Ketra is Lutron’s full-spectrum intelligent-lighting family for projects that need unusually broad white-light control, precise color and high-quality rendering. Current Ketra sources span approximately 1,400K to 10,000K and can also produce saturated color, giving designers a single Lutron light source for natural-white scenes, artwork, entertaining and architectural effects. Regent5 coordinates the fixtures, HomeWorks control, keypads and programming as one lighting system.
Ketra goes beyond ordinary tunable white by combining a very wide white-light range with full-color capability. Most residential projects use the white-light performance every day and reserve saturated color for selected entertaining, art or architectural scenes. That keeps the system visually refined while preserving the flexibility that makes Ketra distinct from Rania and Lumaris.
The same space and fixture layout can support very different stored scenes. Each scene can hold its own color temperature, intensity and fade behavior so the room changes through programming rather than through added fixtures.

Ketra can place saturated color in selected architectural zones while other fixtures remain at usable white light, a capability that tunable-white-only sources do not provide.
Ketra uses a four-channel light engine to create both broad-spectrum white light and saturated color from the same source family. That allows a room to move between natural-white everyday scenes and occasional color effects without changing fixture types.
With HomeWorks, Ketra can vary color temperature and intensity over time through Lutron Natural Show programming. Regent5 tunes the schedule, levels and fade behavior to the residence so daytime settings feel brighter and more neutral while evening scenes become warmer and lower without abrupt transitions. The result is treated as part of the interior lighting design rather than as a decorative effect.
Ketra is often concentrated in the rooms where people spend the most time and where materials, artwork and changing daylight matter most: great rooms, kitchens, dining rooms, primary suites and art-focused spaces. Rania, Lumaris or conventional Lutron-controlled fixtures can serve other areas, allowing the lighting plan to match the performance of each source to the room rather than forcing one family everywhere.
Coastal Source offers Ketra Ready outdoor lighting, including solid-brass fixtures designed around compatible Ketra lamps. Regent5 can coordinate those fixtures with gateway placement, cabling, landscape zones and Lutron programming when a project wants indoor and outdoor lighting to share a consistent control strategy.
Using compatible Ketra sources outdoors can help the terrace, facade and landscape participate in the same white-light and color scenes as the interior. The outdoor design still needs its own fixture selection, weather-rated infrastructure, power, gateway coverage and service access, so Regent5 coordinates the landscape-lighting details separately while programming the finished scenes as part of the broader Lutron system.

A heavy duty solid brass fixture built to accept the Ketra S30 lamp. Brass is the right material outdoors on the Peninsula because it weathers rather than corrodes, and it is what allows a fixture to still be serviceable a decade after planting has grown around it.
Ketra Gateway Outdoor Enclosure
HOUSES THE CLEAR CONNECT GATEWAY TYPE X
A weather-rated enclosure can place the Lutron Clear Connect Gateway Type X closer to compatible outdoor fixtures where the design requires it. Gateway location, network connection, power and wireless coverage should be planned as part of the outdoor lighting system rather than added after installation.
The gateway is the detail that decides whether an outdoor Ketra design works. Wireless control has to actually reach the far end of a property, past masonry, planting, and distance, and siting that enclosure correctly is a design decision made against the site plan rather than something resolved on the day. We survey the run distances before specifying, because a beautiful fixture that drops off the system in the far corner of a garden is a service call every month.
Coastal Source also builds outdoor audio, and the same buried cabling and connector system carries both. Where a project wants lighting and sound through a garden, planning them together at trenching stage costs a fraction of adding the second one later.

HomeWorks scenes can coordinate Ketra color temperature, intensity and color with conventional lighting loads, architectural keypads and compatible shades. Existing systems should be surveyed before a retrofit because processor, gateway, software and Ketra product generation all affect compatibility.

They can be planned together. Coastal Source uses its Coastal Connector and Plug+Play cabling ecosystem across outdoor lighting and audio, so trenching, pathways and service locations can be coordinated as one landscape-technology plan. Lighting and audio are still engineered as separate loads and circuits where required.
