They serve different priorities. Bluesound and BluOS emphasize hi-resolution playback and integration with traditional HiFi equipment, while Sonos offers a very broad ecosystem of installed amplifiers, architectural speakers, soundbars and standalone products. Regent5 installs both and specifies the platform around the listening goals and project.
Yes. Current Bluesound players support lossless and high-resolution playback up to 24-bit/192 kHz. The actual resolution you hear depends on the source material, streaming service, output path, DAC and downstream audio equipment.
NODE NANO is the compact entry point for adding BluOS to an existing system. NODE adds broader connectivity and television-friendly features. NODE ICON is the flagship, adding dual-mono ESS DACs, balanced XLR outputs, a five-inch display, THX AAA headphone amplification and Dirac Live readiness.
Yes with a POWERNODE or POWERNODE EDGE sized for the room and speakers. NODE NANO, NODE and NODE ICON are streamers rather than speaker power amplifiers, so they connect to an external amplifier, active speakers or an existing HiFi system.
For selected rooms, yes. Current POWERNODE supports HDMI eARC and can run 100 watts per channel in stereo or 80 watts per channel across a three-channel left-center-right configuration, with compatible wireless surround and subwoofer options. It is not a substitute for a full multichannel processor in more complex theaters.
Yes on supported products. Current PULSE CINEMA supports Dolby Atmos, while other Bluesound models have different Dolby capabilities. We select the product based on whether the room is primarily for music, television or immersive home-theater playback.
Yes. Bluesound currently lists integration support for Crestron, Control4, Lutron, Josh.ai and several other control platforms. The exact feature set depends on the current driver and product, so Regent5 coordinates supported functions while preserving the native BluOS app for detailed music control.
Yes. BluOS can play supported music libraries stored on the local network, and VAULT adds internal storage plus CD ripping so a physical disc collection can become part of the whole-home BluOS library.
Yes, especially in a large multiroom system. Reliable streaming depends on stable Ethernet or WiFi, clean IP configuration and good coverage. Regent5 coordinates switching, access points, wired connections and rack design so network problems do not become audio problems.
Yes. We can audit the BluOS players, account access, network, amplification, speakers, music libraries and control integrations, then keep equipment that still fits the system and correct configuration or infrastructure problems.
Pricing depends on the number of zones, streamers, amplifiers, speakers, television rooms, network work, racks, wiring and control integration. Regent5 develops a specification after the listening goals and infrastructure are understood rather than publishing a generic package price.
