When Regent5 takes over an existing residence
A system takeover should begin with discovery, not assumptions. We assess the network, controllers, racks, lighting systems, shades, security, AV and critical power; identify credentials and documentation that are available; separate immediate reliability concerns from optional upgrades; and create a staged plan. Existing Crestron, Savant, Control4 and Lutron systems can often be improved substantially when the underlying network, documentation and service access are brought under control.
This is particularly valuable after a property purchase, a change in household staff, a transition between integrators or a long period of deferred maintenance. The estate manager gets a clear service baseline and the principal avoids an unnecessary “replace everything” approach.
Primary residences, second homes and multi-property standards
Families with multiple residences often benefit from consistent operational standards even when the homes use different technology. Network naming, staff access, remote-support procedures, documentation, monitoring and escalation paths can be standardized so the estate team is not learning a completely different support model at every property.
