Ketra goes beyond tunable white by combining a wide white-light range with saturated color. Most projects use the white capability every day and color selectively, giving designers flexible scenes without turning the home into a novelty lighting system.
The same space, the same fixtures, four buttons. Nothing has been moved and nothing has been added. Each of these is a stored state in which every circuit holds its own colour temperature, its own intensity, and its own fade rate.

Interior light matched to the colour of the daylight at the window, so the eye reads the room and the view as one continuous space rather than two.
COLLABORATE
Accent channels lifted onto the art and the decorative elements, general illumination pulled back. The room becomes about what is in it.
MEDIA
Overhead down for a screen, perimeter held low but present so people can still read and see each other. The scene nobody thinks to ask for and everybody uses.
BLUE MOON
Saturated colour across the architecture while work surfaces stay under usable white. This is the capability no tunable white product has.
The fourth image is the one worth pausing on. Colour and white are running at the same time in the same room, on different channels, because Ketra builds white light by mixing coloured emitters rather than filtering a single blue diode. That is why it can do both, and it is the difference the two rooms in San Carlos exist to demonstrate.
Ketra can shift color temperature and intensity through the day so the home feels warmer at dawn and evening and brighter through midday. Regent5 tunes transition timing and levels deliberately so the effect feels natural rather than noticeable.
Ketra is typically concentrated where people spend time and materials matter most—great rooms, kitchens, dining rooms, primary suites and art-focused spaces—while other Lutron lighting products can serve secondary areas on the same control platform.
Ketra is usually discussed as an interior product, which misses something. Regent5 is a Coastal Source dealer, and Coastal Source builds Ketra Ready landscape fixtures that take the same S30 lamp used indoors on track and in recessed housings.
That matters more than it first appears. A house running Ketra inside and conventional landscape lighting outside has two different light sources meeting at the glass, and at dusk the difference is obvious: the interior renders warmly and truthfully while the garden sits under something greener and flatter. Running Ketra on both sides removes that seam. The colour of the light on the facade, the specimen trees, and the terrace can be tuned to sit with the interior rather than against it, and both change together across the evening from one system.

A heavy duty solid brass fixture built to accept the Ketra S30 lamp. Brass is the right material outdoors on the Peninsula because it weathers rather than corrodes, and it is what allows a fixture to still be serviceable a decade after planting has grown around it.
Ketra Gateway Outdoor Enclosure
HOUSES THE CLEAR CONNECT GATEWAY TYPE X
A weatherised enclosure that lets the Lutron Clear Connect Gateway Type X live outdoors, powered and connected over a single weatherised ethernet connector. Without it the gateway sits indoors and cannot reliably reach fixtures out in the landscape.
The gateway is the detail that decides whether an outdoor Ketra design works. Wireless control has to actually reach the far end of a property, past masonry, planting, and distance, and siting that enclosure correctly is a design decision made against the site plan rather than something resolved on the day. We survey the run distances before specifying, because a beautiful fixture that drops off the system in the far corner of a garden is a service call every month.
Coastal Source also builds outdoor audio, and the same buried cabling and connector system carries both. Where a project wants lighting and sound through a garden, planning them together at trenching stage costs a fraction of adding the second one later.

One camera position, one fixture layout, two states of the same system. This is what the colour capability actually buys, and why we usually specify it and then use it sparingly.
EVERY DAY
Neutral warm white. The specimen tree carries the corner, the grasses read as texture, the cladding holds its own colour. This is the scene that runs three hundred nights a year, and it is the one that has to be right.
OCCASION
The same fixtures running colour. Columns washed lavender, one tree green, another cool white, beds in magenta. Nothing has been moved or added. It is a different button.
Most owners who ask for colour use it a handful of times a year, and that is the correct amount. The value is not that a garden can be magenta, it is that the everyday scene and the occasional one live on the same fixtures with no compromise to either. A conventional landscape installation that wants both has to choose, or install two sets of lights.
Ketra runs natively on Lutron control, including HomeWorks for residential projects. Each scene can coordinate fixture color temperature, intensity and fade with conventional lighting loads and shades, creating a coherent result from one lighting-control system.
Ketra, Rania and Lumaris can be compared in Regent5’s San Carlos design center. Two dedicated rooms let homeowners and design teams evaluate color rendering, daylight-matched white and real finish samples before committing to a specification.

Ketra is the most advanced light source Lutron makes and it is priced accordingly. We do not publish figures, because the number that matters is not per fixture, it is per house, and it depends entirely on which rooms genuinely warrant it.
A sensible specification puts Ketra where materials and art demand it and runs Rania or Lumaris elsewhere on the same system. That is not a way to spend less, it is the correct answer, and working it out properly requires the drawings.

Ketra is Lutron’s full-spectrum, tunable light platform. Current Ketra products support high-quality white light and color control, allowing the same system to move from warm or cool white to saturated color while remaining integrated with Lutron HomeWorks.
Yes. Ketra supports both tunable white and saturated color. That lets a HomeWorks scene recall white-light settings for everyday use and color settings for selected architectural or entertaining scenes without adding a separate color-lighting platform.
HomeWorks supports Ketra Natural Show programming, which can vary color temperature and intensity over time. Regent5 programs the schedule, levels and transition behavior to suit the home so the effect feels natural instead of like an obvious lighting effect.
The value is visual and architectural: the house can move gradually from cooler daytime settings to warmer evening scenes without abrupt jumps or manual adjustment. Regent5 treats those transitions as design decisions—timing, intensity and color temperature are tuned to the spaces, finishes and how the household actually uses them.
Current Lutron support lists Ketra D2, D3 and D4R downlights, plus A20, S30, S38 and Track Luminaire products. Product generations change, so Regent5 confirms the current fixture, trim and application options during specification rather than relying on an old catalog list.
Ketra is designed for Lutron control; on residential projects the current reference platform is HomeWorks. Exact compatibility depends on the Ketra product generation and the Lutron system generation, so existing systems should be surveyed before a retrofit is specified.
Potentially, if the existing HomeWorks processor, gateway and Ketra product generation are compatible. Lutron’s current support includes retrofit-oriented Ketra hardware such as D4R, but Regent5 verifies the processor, gateway, software and ceiling conditions before quoting an upgrade.
Yes. Coastal Source currently offers Ketra Ready outdoor lighting, including the solid-brass Modulus Bullet Light designed to use a Ketra S30 lamp. Regent5 coordinates the outdoor fixtures, gateway location, cabling and Lutron programming as part of the landscape-lighting design.

Coastal Source’s Ketra Gateway Outdoor Enclosure is designed to house the Lutron Clear Connect Gateway Type X outdoors and uses a weatherized Ethernet connection for the PoE-powered gateway. It is useful when the project needs the gateway positioned closer to outdoor Ketra fixtures.
They can be planned together. Coastal Source uses its Coastal Connector and Plug+Play cabling ecosystem across outdoor lighting and audio, so trenching, pathways and service locations can be coordinated as one landscape-technology plan. Lighting and audio are still engineered as separate loads and circuits where required.
