The recommendation should follow the project rather than force the room around one platform.
TrackMan publishes a recommended room of at least 15 feet wide, 10 feet high, and 18 feet deep, with an absolute minimum of 8 feet 2 inches from screen to ball and a 9 to 10 foot ceiling for most players to swing a driver. The overhead TrackMan iO mounts 9 feet 4 inches to 10 feet above the hitting surface, with 9 feet 8 inches recommended. These are the manufacturer's published figures, and Regent5 verifies every one of them against your actual room before anything is ordered, because a simulator specified for a room it does not fit is the most expensive mistake in this category.
Lighting is the difference most people feel without naming it: even, dimmable illumination that lights the ball and the swing without washing out the screen or throwing shadows across the hitting zone. Acoustics matter because impact noise travels through a house. Shading and blackout control matter in any room with windows. And the AV design decides whether the room is only a simulator or also the best movie room in the house. Regent5 engineers all of it as one system, because we are the lighting, shading, audio, and electrical contractor as well as the simulator installer.
In a properly integrated room, a single keypad button or app tap starts the session: the simulator and projector power on, the lights move to a calibrated practice scene, the shades close, and the audio comes up. When you are done, one button puts it all away. We build this on Lutron lighting and shading with Savant or Control4 control, the same platforms running the rest of the house, so the golf room is not a separate island of remotes and power strips.
Many owners inherit a simulator room with the house, or had one installed by a company that no longer answers the phone. Regent5 services existing simulator rooms regardless of brand and regardless of who installed them: projector alignment and calibration, software and firmware updates, component replacement, and re-integration with a new or existing control system. If your room has a platform we do not carry, we will still keep it running, and we will give you an honest read on when repair stops making sense.
In new construction and major remodels, the golf room gets planned during framing: dedicated circuits for the projector and simulator hardware, conduit and low voltage runs before drywall, ceiling height protected on the plans, and acoustic treatment built into the wall assembly rather than bolted on later. In an existing space, garages and basements are the usual candidates, and ceiling height is the governing constraint we measure first. Either way, the same Regent5 team handles the electrical circuits and the low voltage work under one license, so the room is not a coordination problem between two contractors.
