Regent5 designs, installs, calibrates and supports JL Audio architectural and freestanding subwoofer systems across the San Francisco Bay Area and Northern California. Select engagements extend to Santa Barbara, the Los Angeles area, and Orange County. Projects include private cinemas, listening rooms, media spaces and luxury residences, with in-wall, in-ceiling, freestanding and multi-subwoofer bass systems engineered from construction planning through calibration and long-term service.
A Fathom architectural subwoofer delivers serious low-frequency performance without placing a large cabinet in the room. It is especially useful when interior design, circulation or theater layout requires the bass system to be built into the architecture. D.A.R.O. is JL Audio’s onboard room-optimization technology on supported Fathom systems.
Gotham v2 is JL Audio’s flagship luxury powered-subwoofer platform, while Fathom v2 provides high-end performance in a more flexible range of room and system sizes. The best choice depends on output targets, room volume, placement and budget. Multiple subwoofers can improve headroom and seat-to-seat bass consistency when they are engineered and measured as a system.
It is concealed within the wall and uses a paintable grille, so it can be made visually discreet. It is not a finish-over invisible speaker panel; projects requiring a fully finish-over subwoofer should be designed around a product specifically made for that purpose.
We design around JL Audio’s architectural and freestanding home subwoofer families, including Fathom IWS and IWSv2, Gotham v2, Fathom v2, E-Sub, Dominion and custom-theater bass solutions when appropriate for the project.
It is a fair question, but it depends on the room and the installation. Cost follows the model, such as Fathom IWSv2, Fathom v2 or Gotham v2, the number of subwoofers, wall depth and framing, new construction or retrofit, amplifier wiring and calibration. A number given without drawings or a site visit would mislead. Start with a consultation at the Regent5 Showroom & Design Center in San Carlos.
Often, but feasibility depends on stud layout, wall depth, utilities, access, finish repair and amplifier wiring. We survey the room before recommending a retrofit location.
