It integrates with current Lutron residential control platforms including HomeWorks and RadioRA 3, allowing the shade to participate in the same scenes as lighting.
Roman shades introduce softness and visible textile character where a flat roller would feel too technical. Lutron supports professionally fabricated Roman treatments around compatible shade drives, while CONRAD adds handwoven natural-fiber materials through Lutron’s Native by Design ecosystem. Beyond collection and color, opacity and openness determine how the treatment behaves. Lutron’s current roller portfolio spans sheer, translucent/privacy and blackout fabrics, plus performance solar screens. Lower openness generally improves glare and privacy control while higher openness preserves more view; fabric color changes both interior appearance and outward visibility. We bring samples to the actual window, in the actual light, at the time of day the room is used. A fabric chosen under showroom lighting frequently disappoints on a north elevation in February. Because exterior shading is exposed to weather, we coordinate mounting substrate, drainage, fabric, power, wind conditions and safe operating limits as part of the design. Yes. Lutron drapery tracks carry custom drapery on a motorized track, so heavy fabric opens and closes on a scene, a schedule, or a keypad button without anyone touching a cord. The track is specified to the fabric rather than the other way around, since weight, fullness, stack depth, and whether the treatment draws from one side or splits at the center all change the hardware.
Timing matters most. The track has to be in the ceiling detail before the ceiling is closed, so this is a decision made on drawings rather than after finishes.
