Regent5 is a certified Lutron dealer holding Lutron HomeWorks certification, and a C10 and C7 licensed contractor, CSLB License 1033103. We specify and install the full Lutron keypad range, including Aviena, Alisse, Palladiom, seeTouch, RadioRA keypads, and Pico remotes, for estates in Atherton, Woodside, Portola Valley, Hillsborough, Los Altos Hills, Los Altos, Menlo Park, Palo Alto, and San Francisco. Every Lutron keypad line and every finish is on display and operating in our San Carlos design center. A keypad is the only part of a lighting control system anyone actually touches, and the only part visible on a finished wall. Finish, engraving, button layout, and backlight behavior are design decisions that belong with the architect and the interior designer, and they are almost impossible to judge from a sample card or a rendering. Owners, architects, builders, designers, and owner's representatives are welcome by appointment.
Aviena is the newest keypad in the Lutron line and the one designers are asking for by name. It pairs a traditional weighted mechanical toggle with a digital back end, so a switch that looks and feels like heritage hardware is actually driving a fully programmed HomeWorks system. The toggles are center retractable and give a solid click, with separate quick press and extended hold commands, which means one toggle can select a scene on a tap and run a raise or lower on a hold. Aviena is hand crafted from sculpted solid brass in five Signature Metal finishes: Aged Brass, Aged Bronze, Brushed Brass, Satin Nickel, and Bright Chrome. It comes in one to four toggle arrangements, in square, horizontal rectangle, and vertical rectangle forms, across single gang at 2.75 inches wide and dual gang at 4.5 inches. Custom text or icon engraving is available. Because it uses the same Signature Metal program, Aviena coordinates directly with Alisse, so a house can run both lines without the finishes fighting each other. One practical point that decides feasibility on retrofit work: Aviena requires European style square or rectangular back boxes, with a recommended depth of 2.36 inches. That is not what is behind the wall in most Bay Area houses. On new construction we specify the correct boxes during rough-in. On a retrofit we survey the existing boxes before Aviena goes into a schedule, because custom back boxes are available but they change the scope. Aviena is a HomeWorks product and runs on standard QS wiring.
Alisse is the flush architectural wall control, described by Lutron as versatile European style, running QS wired with button configurations up to nine. That count matters: Alisse carries the largest button configuration in the line, so it is the specification when one wall control has to do a lot of work. Finishes come from the Lutron Signature Metal Collection, which is the same program Aviena uses, so the two coordinate in the same house. Palladiom takes a different route. Backlit buttons with engraved text in a sleek minimalist form, QS wired, in rectangular or square style, with button configurations of two, three, three with raise and lower, or four. Palladiom shares a design language with Palladiom shading hardware and Palladiom thermostats, which is the reason to specify it. In a room carrying exposed Palladiom shades, a matching keypad and thermostat on the same wall in the same finish reads as one designed system rather than three separate products. The short version: Aviena where the room wants a toggle and a heritage form, Alisse where it wants a flush plate and a high button count, Palladiom where it has to coordinate with visible shade hardware.
seeTouch is the workhorse of the line, available wired or wireless with raised engraved buttons, up to seven of them, in gloss, satin, architectural metal, and architectural matte. It runs on both HomeWorks and RadioRA 3, which is why it turns up in so many houses. Sunnata is the newer wireless keypad and the one we reach for on retrofit work, because the buttons are field swappable and an LED light bar makes the keypad findable in a dark room. Architrave solves a specific problem that comes up more than people expect: it is compact enough to fit where a standard keypad will not, including door jambs and millwork, which matters when an architect has run out of wall. Signature Series gives large backlit buttons in a narrow profile sized to standard millwork. GRAFIK Eye QS is the unit to specify when one control needs to run both lighting and window treatments locally rather than through the processor. The QS Keyswitch restricts access to a key, which is the right answer for a plant room, a gallery, or a guest wing. Pico remotes are the piece most owners end up appreciating most: wireless, battery powered, and usable on a bedside table, in a tabletop pedestal, on a wall bracket, in a car visor, or in a drawer. Pico is frequently the answer when a room needs one more control point and nobody wants to cut into finished plaster.
Engraved keypads are made to order, so button legends have to be right before they are cut. Our process is to install temporary keypads marked up on site, then live with them. Button assignments get tested in the actual house, in the actual rooms, by the people who will use them, before anything is committed to metal. Layout matters more than most people expect. A keypad with too many buttons is not used. A keypad whose top button is not the one you press on the way into the room is a daily irritation. We work from how each space is actually used rather than from a standard template, and we keep the number of buttons down deliberately. Engraved keypads take roughly three to five weeks to arrive, and we install them once they land.
Metal finishes behave differently under different light. A satin nickel keypad that looks correct under showroom fluorescents can read cold against warm oak, and a bright brass that looks bold on a sample card can disappear against a brass door lever. This is why we keep every finish on the wall and powered in San Carlos, alongside Lutron shade fabrics, Conrad samples, and two dedicated Ketra rooms where color temperature can be changed while you look. Bring your finish schedule, your fabric samples, and your hardware selections. Judging a keypad against the actual materials, under light you can adjust, removes most of the revision cycles that otherwise happen after installation.
Lutron makes more keypad lines than most people realise, and they are not simply better or worse than each other. Each one solves a different problem. This is how we narrow it down before anyone looks at a finish sample.
| Line | Material and finish | Systems | Specify it when |
|---|---|---|---|
| Aviena | Solid brass, Signature Metals | HomeWorks | The room wants a real mechanical toggle and a heritage form. Needs European style back boxes. |
| Alisse | Solid brass, Signature Metals, 11 colours | HomeWorks | A flush architectural plate with backlit halos at the buttons. Up to 9 buttons. |
| Palladiom | Metal, matte, glass, Signature Metals, 22 colours | HomeWorks | The wall also carries Palladiom shades or thermostats and everything must match. |
| Architrave | Architectural metal, matte, glass, 22 colours | HomeWorks | There is no room for a standard keypad. Fits door jambs and millwork. |
| Signature Series | Architectural metal, matte, glass, 22 colours | HomeWorks | Large backlit buttons in a narrow profile, sized to standard millwork. |
| seeTouch | Gloss, satin, architectural metal and matte, 22 colours | HomeWorks, RadioRA 3 | The workhorse. Raised engraved buttons, wired or wireless, up to 7 buttons. |
| Sunnata | Gloss and satin, 24 colours | HomeWorks, RadioRA 3 | Retrofit work. Wireless, field-swappable buttons, LED light bar to find it in the dark. |
| Pico | Gloss and satin, 8 colours | HomeWorks, RadioRA 3, Caseta | A control point is needed where there is no wall, or none can be opened. |
| GRAFIK Eye QS | Gloss, satin, architectural finishes, 35 colours | HomeWorks | One unit needs to control both lighting and window treatments locally. |
| QS Keyswitch | Gloss, 8 colours | HomeWorks | Access has to be restricted to a key, in a plant room, gallery, or guest wing. |
Colour and finish counts are Lutron's published figures and change as the lines develop. We confirm current availability on the specific line and configuration before it goes into a schedule.
Metal finish reads differently against stone, tile, wallcovering, and millwork, and differently again under warm and cool light. These are the same keypads and finishes we keep powered on the wall in San Carlos.

Finish availability varies by keypad line. Alisse and Palladiom carry the metal finish program; seeTouch, RadioRA, and Pico use a colour range. We confirm what is available on the line you are specifying before it goes into a schedule.

Yes. Every Lutron keypad line and finish is on display and powered in our San Carlos design center. Bring your finish schedule, fabric samples, and hardware selections, and judge the keypad against the actual materials rather than a sample card. Owners, architects, builders, interior designers, and owner's representatives are welcome by appointment.
Engraved keypads are made to order, so the legends have to be correct before they are cut. We install temporary keypads marked up on site first, so button assignments are tested in the actual rooms by the people who will use them. Once the layout is settled, engraved keypads take roughly three to five weeks to arrive and we install them when they land.
Alisse is the most architectural keypad in the Lutron line, machined from solid metal with flush buttons and engineered backlighting, available in satin nickel, antique bronze, bright brass, clear polished, and graphite.
Palladiom shares a design language with Palladiom shading hardware and Palladiom thermostats, so a room with exposed Palladiom shades can carry a matching keypad and thermostat in the same finish. Palladiom is exclusive to HomeWorks QSX. Alisse is the choice when the keypad stands alone; Palladiom is the choice when it needs to coordinate with visible shade hardware.
Fewer than most people initially want. A keypad with too many buttons does not get used, because nobody remembers what button six does. The useful test is whether the top button is the one you press on the way into the room. We design layouts from how each space is actually used rather than from a standard template, and we deliberately keep button counts down.
Usually yes, using a Pico remote. Pico is wireless, so it can sit on a bedside table, in a tabletop pedestal, on a wall bracket, or in a drawer, and it can be added after the fact without opening a wall. This is frequently the answer when a room needs one more control point and nobody wants to cut into finished plaster.
Not automatically, and this is worth checking rather than assuming. A satin nickel keypad and a satin nickel door lever from a different manufacturer can read as two different metals on the same wall. Metal finish also shifts under warm and cool light. We keep every finish powered in San Carlos so it can be compared against your actual hardware samples under light you can adjust.
In most cases yes. Keypads are the most visible part of the system and also among the more straightforward to swap, provided the replacement is supported on the platform in the house. On a legacy HomeWorks or RadioRA system this needs checking first, since not every current keypad line runs on older processors. We assess that against the actual system before quoting.
