Rania is Lutron’s natural-white intelligent-lighting family. Its three-channel light engine uses Lutron’s proprietary color science and Ketra-derived color-mixing technology to produce white light from 1,800K to 5,500K, with 90+ CRI across much of the everyday range from 2,700K to 5,000K. Rania does not add saturated-color effects; it is intended for projects where the priority is natural-looking white light, deep dimming and coordinated time-of-day scenes.
Rania and Ketra solve different lighting-design problems. Ketra is the choice when a project needs saturated color or the broadest spectral flexibility, while Rania focuses on high-quality natural white light. Many residences can use both: Ketra in selected feature spaces and Rania in rooms where white-light quality is the priority. Because both participate in supported Lutron control systems, the homeowner can use one consistent scene and keypad strategy across the residence. Warm, lower-intensity light can bring a room online gently before daylight becomes the dominant source.
DAYLIGHT
Higher color temperatures can sit more naturally beside strong daylight and keep materials from looking overly warm by comparison.
EVENING
The same fixtures can shift warmer and dim lower as the architecture moves from task lighting into evening atmosphere.
MATERIAL
Wood, stone, textiles and artwork can be tuned under white light that is selected for how the room actually looks, not just for a nominal CCT on a schedule.
Current Rania products cover a broad natural-white range, including 1,800K–5,500K on supported sources. Regent5 tunes scenes to the space rather than chasing the widest possible range.
Rania D2 uses a 2-inch aperture and is available for both open-framing new construction and finished-ceiling remodel applications. Fixed, adjustable and wall-wash configurations let the lighting designer use the same visual language for general illumination, art and architectural surfaces. New-construction housings are coordinated before drywall; remodeler versions install through finished ceilings after ceiling depth, joist locations, cutout requirements and service access are verified.
Rania extends beyond recessed downlights so a room can maintain consistent natural-white behavior across different fixture types. Current family options include architectural downlights, lamps and linear tape-light applications for decorative fixtures, coves, shelves, mirrors and millwork. Regent5 coordinates the fixture type, beam, trim, mounting condition and control requirements with the reflected ceiling plan and interior architecture before ordering.
Rania sits between conventional warm-dim or tunable-white products and Ketra’s full-spectrum color capability. It is designed for rooms where natural-looking white light is the priority.
Because Rania is built to work natively with Lutron connected control systems, intensity and color temperature can be coordinated as part of the same scene logic as shades and the rest of the home.

For Regent5 residential projects, Rania is planned around Lutron HomeWorks. Intensity and color temperature can become part of the same scene logic as keypads and compatible shades, including gradual time-of-day transitions through HomeWorks programming. The lighting plan still needs to resolve fixture locations, power, Clear Connect Type X coverage, trims and service access before the system is commissioned.
Aperture, trim, beam spread, fixed versus adjustable versus wall wash, ceiling construction and control architecture should be resolved from the reflected ceiling plan rather than left until trim-out. For renovations, Regent5 surveys ceiling depth, joists, existing wiring and access before selecting remodeler fixtures. For new construction, housings and service locations are coordinated with the architect, lighting designer and electrical team before ceilings close.
